What Gemini Spark is good at
- Tasks, schedules and reusable skills, for example a Monday inbox recap with a to-do list and calendar blocks for deep work.
- Works across Connected Apps and Google services, with a remote browser and computer for live web research and bookings.
- Designed to check with you before major actions, and asks you to take over in its browser when it needs you.
- Included in Google AI Pro, not only the top plan.
Where Gemini Spark breaks
- Personal Google Accounts only (no work or school accounts), 18 or over, Keep Activity must be on, and it is not available in the EEA, Nigeria, Switzerland or the UK.
- It uses info from Connected Apps, Personal Intelligence, location and websites you are signed into; Google calls it an experimental feature and says your supervision matters to prevent unintended actions.
- It draws on the same compute-based Gemini usage limits as the rest of your plan, and at most 15 tasks run at once; a schedule will not run if 15 are already running.
- Turning Spark off deletes its remote browser and code data, but keeps your tasks, threads and any files it created or changed.
When a custom build beats Gemini Spark
When the job is a fixed rule (log every lead email into a Sheet), Google Apps Script or a simple automation does it reliably with no usage limits and no agent judgment to supervise.
Setup
No-code. Someone comfortable with spreadsheets can set it up. No code needed.
