What Front is good at

  • Autopilot is billed per conversation at the level it reaches: $0.05 to triage, $0.39 to hand off a draft, $0.89 to fully resolve.
  • Autopilot works across email, SMS, WhatsApp, Slack and a portal inside shared inboxes.
  • You are not charged when Autopilot fails because of a technical problem on Front's side, and each conversation is charged only once.

Where Front breaks

  • Autopilot only works with shared inboxes and is only optimized for English.
  • Seat caps push growing teams up a tier: Starter allows up to 10 seats and Professional up to 50.
  • Capterra reviewers call per-user pricing expensive for large teams and report the Outlook integration is no longer a true two-way sync.

When a custom build beats Front

When you only need cheap classification and routing of inbound email into your own tools, a small custom triage script can replace the inbox seats.
