The verdict

Gemini has the lower and clearer entry price in the US, $4.99 for Google AI Plus and $19.99 for Google AI Pro, with Google storage bundled, and a free API tier for prototyping. ChatGPT's plan prices could not be read from the vendor page, but it offers a Business workspace that does not train on your content by default. The privacy catch on Gemini is the free API tier and the app's human review: free tier API content can be used to improve Google products, and app chats seen by reviewers are kept for up to three years.

If your team lives in Google accounts and wants the cheapest start, try Gemini; if you want a single team workspace with admin controls, compare ChatGPT Business.
