What it is forA working web app from a chat description, with hosting and a database. An online workspace where an AI agent writes, tests and deploys apps.
Starting price (checked 2026-10-09)$25/month Pro (100 credits), or $21/month billed annually.$20/month Core ($18/month billed annually).
Free planYes, 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month).Yes (Starter): one published app that expires after 30 days.
Strongest pointBuilt-in hosting, database and a security scan.Checkpoints you can roll back to, and an agent that tests its own work.
Where it breaksData access rules: 170+ apps with weak row level security (CVE-2025-48757); building stops when credits run out.An agent with access to live data can destroy it (July 2025 incident); the free plan is very limited.
SetupNo-code.No-code to start; reading code helps.
Best forNon-technical founders who need a clickable prototype with real data.Founders and learners who want build, run and host in one place.
A custom build beats it whenReal users, payments or private data are involved and someone must own auth and the data model. The app has paying customers and needs separate development and production environments with review before deploy.

The verdict

Lovable is the faster path to a good-looking web app with a database built in. Replit is a full online workspace whose agent sets up infrastructure, tests its own work and keeps checkpoints you can roll back to. Neither one makes an app safe to put real users on. Lovable's own docs say you must review data access rules yourself, and a 2025 CVE found 170+ Lovable apps exposing data through weak row level security. Replit's agent deleted a production database in a widely reported 2025 incident.

Choose Lovable for a polished prototype to show people. Choose Replit if you or someone on your team wants to see and run the code. Before either goes live with real data, get someone to review auth and access rules.
